De Landgoedwinkel

Rather sleep in and have breakfast after 10:00? You will be more than welcome at the Landgoedwinkel of the Mariënwaerdt Estate. You will enjoy a nice country breakfast with bread from the home bakery, fresh eggs or homemade granola. Also perfect for coffee or tea with apple or nut pie, with secret family recipe.

Carla's Conditorie

Carla’s Conditorie, right beside the Dom Tower and literally around the corner, is a cosy bakery en coffee bar. Crash in one of the sofas or on the terrace, for a little breakfast, some coffee and cake or a lovely vegetarian lunch.

All bread, cakes and cookies are homemade in the bakery behind the shop. Everything is a 100% vegetarian and they have a large plant-based assortment. Also good to know, all baked good are made with spelt flour.

Utrecht has lot of nice and original lunchrooms en coffee spots to settel down and recover from your Utrecht adventures. Again we have done our research and made you a list of some of our favourites.


Recommended: our little sister Soep-er, Utrechts first soupbar. Here you will find surprising flavours and ingredients in a bowl. Traditional recipes with a personal twist on the most versatile dish on the planet: soup. Healthy, simple and “gezellig”. On-the-go of at the table. Extra nice: get in early to enjoy some of the homemade pastries and good coffee.

Ruby Rose

Ruby Rose is a wine and dine bar with an overwhelming and refreshing interior. Lots of beautiful prints on luxurious fabrics, a gigantic bar in the middel of the room. Endless amounts of good wine and from the kitchen only everything you like. A menu with mostly Mediterranean dishes which you order to share together.

Not to sophisticated but still very tasty food? The burgers at Meneer Smakers are unparalleled. Auntie Truus of Grandpa Harry, chicken, beef of fish, Mr Smakers has them all. Like a burger bu not a meat eater? Try the delicious veggieburgers. You will find the burgers by Mr Smakers at four spots in the city, the closest one is at the Nobelstraat
